Su-Valley Jr/Sr High School
This 52,000 sq. ft. school incorporated several interesting features including an exterior canopy with log supports and a large interior fireplace. The Su-Valley Jr./Sr. High School was the 2nd LEED certified school in the state of Alaska, firmly building upon Collins Construction’s knowledge of the LEED certification requirements.
The welcoming entry links the library, multipurpose room, stage and music rooms, creating an open, flexible environment from the moment students, teachers and visitors walk through the front door. Tailored to a community that values art and nature the warm interiors and agile learning environments contributed to this school becoming a CEFPI McConnell Award Finalist in 2010.
